Pittsburgh -7 vs. Arizona
Straight up: Pittsburgh
Against the spread: Arizona
Should be a close one. Let's hope the Refs don't influence the tide of the game.

NFL Wildcard Picks
Atlanta at Arizona (-1)

Straight Up: Atlanta
Indianapolis (-1) at San Diego

Baltimore (-3.5) at Miami
Against Spread: Miami (Maybe this is a close one...)
Straight Up: Baltimore
Philadelphia (-3) at Minnesota
Against Spread: Philadelphia
Straight Up: Philadelphia
It's interesting picking all of the road teams...but there are many question marks about the home teams. To me the least of which would be Miami. Second would be Minnesota. I just wonder what they'll get out of their QB's.

BCS Bowl Picks '09
Happy New Year!
Rose Bowl
USC -9.5 over Penn State
Orange Bowl
Cincinnati -2.5 over Virginia Tech
Sugar Bowl
Alabama -9.5 over Utah
Fiesta Bowl
Texas -8 over Ohio State
BCS Championship
Florida -3 over Oklahoma
Rose Bowl
USC -9.5 over Penn State
Pick:Analysis: USC just has too much talent.
USC against the spread
USC straight up
Orange Bowl
Cincinnati -2.5 over Virginia Tech
Pick:Analysis: I think the tougher conference should win out...and a special teams play or 2 from VTech will make the difference in the game.
VTech with the spread
VTech straight up
Sugar Bowl
Alabama -9.5 over Utah
Pick:Analysis: We'll see if Utah deserves to be in a BCS game, but I don't think they have a enough to battle the depth of Alabama for 4 quarters, in any case.
Alabama against the spread
Alabama straight up
Fiesta Bowl
Texas -8 over Ohio State
Pick:Analysis: Should be a solid game, and I think close. A lot will depend on the limiting of mistakes by OSU's quarterbacks. If OSU sticks to Tressel Ball and plays a regular defense (non-zone/prevent), this should be a very interesting game. If not, a Texas blowout wouldn't surprise me.
Ohio State with the spread
Texas straight up
BCS Championship
Florida -3 over Oklahoma
Pick:Analysis: If the talent levels of the 2 schools are close to equal, including a Heisman QB each, I think this comes down to Urban Meyer out-coaching Bob Stoops. This should be fun! The matchup reminds me a little of Miami vs. Ohio State in '03.
Florida against the spread
Florida straight up

Braylon Edwards...is he for real?
Are you kidding me?!?
Blurb, from Rotoworld:
Braylon Edwards said that Cleveland fans don't appreciate him, largely because he went to Michigan.

Or maybe it's the league leading amount of drops, which is hardly a one year problem. "I've learned since being here that I'm very unappreciated. Not by the organization, just in the eyes of the fans and the city. Since Day One, I've been a marked man coming from Michigan. It's just gone that way." Oy.

Heisman Vote '08
This is how I see it:
1. Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma
2. Tim Tebow, QB, Florida
3. Colt McCoy, QB, Texas
Justification...In my opinion, I like see things that have never been done before. Just like Tebow last year, and his 20 TD, 20 TD season, I think Bradford gets the nod. Most points ever scored in a season and 5 games in a row with 60+ points means a lot to me. There really isn't much that actually separates these fine quarterbacks, in my mind. So that's why I lean heavily toward milestone achievements. I also lean toward leadership, in that, Bradford and Tebow guided their teams the the National Championship Game. Unfortunately, McCoy could be there, if not for tie breaking issues, but hey, win all your games and it won't matter. Surprisingly, I guess, Oklahoma had no problem crushing Texas Tech. And speaking of that, I think it was sad that Graham Harrell, QB, Texas Tech wasn't invited to the Heisman ceremony. He put up some serious numbers, and lead his team to a great record and ranking.

Bringing it back!
After an almost 9 month hiatus, I want to bring the blog back. I need to make sure I get my sports takes written down. I also need to make sure I stay on top of it, and do it regularly. There also seems no better time to start again, than Heisman voting time...
